SPECIAL INTEREST DAY

Wednesday 5th November 2014
New York, New York
Mary Alexander

A personal 'virtual' tour in which Mary will unashamedly cherry-pick the artistic highlights and icons of New York, and consider the influence of 'new money' on art patronage, the atmosphere of high society clubs, and the building of the great art collections including the Metropolitan Museum and the Guggenheim.

Mary Alexander is returning to NDFAS to take our Study Day – in the past having addressed us on the subject of the 1925 Paris Arts Decoratifs Exhibition and, more recently, on the story of the Waldorf Hotels in New York. She has a MA with distinction in History of Art, and is an experienced freelance lecturer.
